Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 31, 2026 · Effective: May 31, 2026

The short version

Yin Yang Launcher is built around using your phone less. The same principle applies to data: the App has no sign-in, no accounts, and does not collect personally identifying information such as your name, email, phone number, or any Google account details. Optional analytics, when enabled, are pseudonymous. Events are tied to a random per-install identifier that cannot be linked back to you as a person.

What this app does not collect

  • Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any account information

  • Which apps are installed on the device

  • Which apps are opened, or for how long

  • Screen-time or app-usage data

  • Precise (GPS) location

  • Contents of notes or reminders

  • Contacts, photos, or files

Yin Yang Launcher does not sell or share user data with any third party for advertising. Any future addition to data collection will be opt-in and clearly disclosed.

What is collected with a Pro purchase

Pro does not require signing in. The purchase is tied to your Google Play install via Play Billing. We do not collect your name, email, or any Google account identifier. Payment card details are handled entirely by Google Play and never reach the app.

What is collected when analytics is enabled

Analytics can be turned on or off at any time in Settings → Connect & support → Share error & usage reports. When enabled, the following anonymous data is collected: in-app screen and feature usage, crash diagnostics, Android version and device model, approximate location (derived from IP, which is then discarded), and a random per-install identifier used only for unique-user counts. None of this data is linked to your identity.

Who we are

This privacy policy applies to the Yin Yang Launcher Android app (com.yinyang.launcher), operated by Rolet Oliver Fernandes, an individual sole proprietor based in India.

For the purposes of GDPR, UK GDPR, and equivalent data protection laws, the Service Provider acts as the Data Controller. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Service Provider acts as the Data Fiduciary.

How we use this data

The limited, anonymous data collected through the App is used only for app functionality, optional analytics and crash diagnostics, and compliance with legal obligations.

Data is never used for targeted advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties. The App has no email list and sends no marketing communications.

Third-party processors

The following process Personal Data on our behalf, only on documented instructions, and never for their own purposes:

Each processor has its own privacy policy.

IP addresses

We do not retain IP addresses in our own systems. PostHog is configured to discard IPs on receipt. Firebase Analytics automatically anonymises IPs. RevenueCat may briefly process IPs to detect fraudulent purchases.

International data transfers

Some of our processors operate outside the EU/UK and India. Where Personal Data is transferred internationally, the transfer is made under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where applicable, and Standard Contractual Clauses otherwise. A copy of the relevant safeguards is available on request.

Data retention

Personal Data is retained only for as long as needed. Analytics events are retained for up to 14 months (subject to processor configuration) and then automatically deleted. Crash diagnostics are retained for 90 days. Transaction records used for tax and accounting compliance are retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax law.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Know what data we have about you

  • Access a copy of your data

  • Correct inaccurate data

  • Delete your data

  • Withdraw your consent to analytics at any time (toggle above)

  • Receive your data in a portable format

  • Object to specific uses of your data

  • Lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country

These rights apply regardless of your jurisdiction. If you are in California, you also have the right to opt out of "sale" of Personal Data; we do not sell data, so this is automatic. If you are in India, you have the rights granted to Data Principals under the DPDP Act, including grievance redressal (see below).

To exercise any right, email support@yinyanglauncher.com or use the deletion form: https://forms.gle/dHpCcyh5W4wHNEQ6A. We respond within 30 days.

You can also stop most data collection immediately by turning off the analytics toggle or uninstalling the App.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit using standard secure connections. We rely on the security practices of our processors for storage; the Service Provider does not maintain its own server infrastructure.

Children

The App is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn we have, we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Where required by law, renewed consent will be obtained for any new data collection that requires it.
